This study aims to highlight the fundamental elements of an ESP course design.

It describes the appropriate course development process by referring to the key principles that an ESP practitioner takes into account when designing courses.

Thus, teaching effective ESP should start by identifying the language and learning needs of students.

This step would allow a clear formulation of the course goals and objectives, and would pave the way to an appropriate conceptualization of the content and the development of syllabus design.

The appropriate selection of the required materials is another crucial element to ensure authentic and specific choice of the classroom activities, course evaluation and students' assessment.
