The literature of writing letters is an ancient art that humanity has known as a form of expressing the souls' feelings and as a field of artistic creation through prose.

So it is considered so important art for Westerners.

Even the Greek era was associated with the art of rhetoric.

The Romans took it from the Greeks as well as took from their sciences and their literatures.

So they sent their children to learn from Greek preachers.

However among the Arabs, it flourished especially in the third and fourth centuries of Hijrah when the Arab civilization and the Islamic conquests reached its climax.

Hence the writer shows his unique ability in persuading and conveying the message and in delivering it in a suitable style to its audience.

The letters were the link between the writer and foreign world.
