Abstract EN

All countries of the world work to reduce and prevent corruption as it stands as a barrier to achieving and adopting good governance.

Therefore, these countries strive to search for the necessary solutions, through enacting laws and working to allocate anti-corruption and other bodies.

So this study aims to clarify the relationship between both good governance and corruption, and reach the importance of good governance in reducing and preventing corruption.

The analytical descriptive approach was relied on to review the most basic concepts related to the study, in addition to the case study method, by studying the case of the state of Algeria through the development of indicators of good governance for the period between 1997 and 2017, according to what was mentioned in the reports of the World Bank.

After analyzing and interpreting the development of indicators of good governance in Algeria, it was concluded that corruption is an indicator of measuring good governance, and a reverse relationship has been reached between both good governance and corruption.

The higher the indicator for controlling corruption, the clearer the features of good governance in Algeria.

The lower this value, the more visible the features of corruption in Algeria.
