The democratic methods adopted in drawing up constitutions are represented in both the method of the Constituent Assembly and the method of the constitutional referendum, and through these two methods the idea of the participation of the sovereign people in drafting or amending the constitution is realized.

Algeria has known several constitutions through historical stages and specific circumstances, which differed in the methods of its inception and in the principles that were stipulated, the first of which was the constitution of 1963 and the last of which was the constitution of 1996, which is still in continuous amendment to this day.

The study concluded with a set of results, the most important of which is that the referendum is considered a more democratic method, in addition to achieving constitutional democracy as a result of the people's and civil society's participation in preparing the constitution.
