Abstract EN

This study is about the process of interpretation and the act of interpreting in the framework of receiving and reading the literary text by readers through the concepts brought by Paul Ricoeur in what is known as the new hermeneutics.

Since interpreting the text and understanding it has a deep impact on the reader.

That is, if we look at the interpreting process as a medium used for the reading self to know itself more, for interpreting a text is in fact taking a stand from it after reading it which is a phase that represents the degree of reaction and affection of the reader by the text one reads.

That's why Paul Ricoeur introduces a number of concepts and phases the reader passes by when and after reading the literary text.

These phases start by the uncertainty of the reading self from the topic, then understanding of the self in front of the text and the self owning the topic of the text and adding it to its experiences and self conscious.

Paul Ricoeur asserts the power of the narrative in programming the reader.

He sees translation as a chance to know the thinking of the other and then the interpreting self knowing itself
