The importance of the Shatt al-Arab is not the result of today as it emerged since the beginning of the movement of geographical discoveries and expanded its position when Britain wanted to search for a sea corridor linking between its colonies and occupied the Shatt al-Arab and controlled to shorten the distance the Levant and the Red Sea.
