Abstract EN

This research tends to shed light on the role of family in the creation of businesses by women, within the Algerian context.

After a review of the literature, the results of an empirical study, conducted with a sample of thirty (30) women entrepreneurs, practicing in different sectors in the Province (Wilaya) of Tlemcen (northwestern Algeria), are presented.

It was found that the situation of the family, the family circle and children have an impact on the creation of a company.

Furthermore, research has shown that the type of family and the involvement of its members in housework have no significant influence.
