Abstract EN

The management of acute venous injuries remains a controversial topic among practicing surgeons with different philosophies proposed in the operative treatment of venous injuries.75 patients who underwent different types of vascular surgeries were studied to asses the relation between postoperative morbidity & the types of surgery(ligation or repair).

Oedema of injured parts of the body, amputation & need for revision of postoperative arterial ischaemia were found to be statistically significant with ligation of injured veins.

Site of venous injury plays an important role in the planning the decision of the types of surgery.

Repair of femoral & popliteal veins were found to be far better than ligation.

Haemodynamic state of patients & Fasciotomy were studied for their significance with either types of surgery.
