The Study Aimed at identifying the concept, dimensions and characteristics of knowledge society.

it also aimed at figuring out the requirements of knowledge society from the university.

moreover, knowing the role played by fayoum university in fulfilling the requirements of knowledge society, in addition to put a Suggestional imagination activating the role of university in fulfilling the requirements of knowledge.

The researcherused the qualitative method, and the sample of the study consisted of (20) experts from the teaching staff at fayoum university.

the researcher designed aquestionnaireto collect information that consisted of (118) items distributed among six axes and also used SPSS in analyizino data and reached the following results: The axis of procedures of activating the role of university in fulfilling the requirements of knowledge society in the first rank with a ststistical mean of (2.35), then the axis of the role of fayoum university in fulfilling the requirements of knowledge society related to university vision in the second rank with a ststistical mean (2.33), then the axis of the role of fayoum university in fulfilling the requirements of knowledge society related to educational environment with a statistical mean (2.2), while the axis of the role of fayoum university in fulfilling the requirements of knowledge society related to human resources in the fourth rank with a statistical mean (2.166), then followed the axis of the role of fayoum university in fulfilling the requirements of knowledge society related to society service in the fifth rank with a statistical mean (2.14), in the last rank came the axis of the role of fayoum university in fulfilling the requirements of knowledge society related to scientific research with a statistical mean (1.632).
