English Abstract
The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of grapheme nanoparticles on trypsin and chymotrypsin enzymes activity in Common Carp Cyprinus carpio.
Fish were exposed to graphene nanoparticles at concentrations of 10 and 20 mg / L for the T1 and T2 respectively (for 10 days ), as well as to control group (without graphene).
The exposure of fish to graphene showed no abnormal behavior of the fish and no mortality satisfactory clinical signs in the experimental fish in all treatments, the enzyme activity of trypsin ranged between 0.376 – 0.532 U/mg protein in T2 and control group respectively.
Results showed that the activity of chymotrypsin enzyme decreased in T2 attained 0.78 U/mg protein compared to control group (0.99 U/ mg protein).Trypsin and activity show significant difference (p< 0.05) between T1and T2 compare with control group, the values were0.376 ,0.492,0.532 U/mg protein for trypsin enzyme , and 0.78 , 0.98, 0.99 U/mg protein for chymotrypsin , for control group , T1 and T2 , respectively.
The result of the present study indicated that the concentration of graphene ( 20 mg / l) was significantly affect the digestive activities ( P < 0.05) decrease of chymotrypsin of Cyprinus carpio which would negatively affect , the growth of fish .
According to these results concerning the effect of graphene ; these studies would be recommended to determine the risks of graphene accumulation on aquatic organisms.
