Abstract EN

The aim of this empirical study is to explore the opinion of some Kuwaiti citizens regarding the last war against Iraq.

For this purpose, a purposeful sample of 700 Kuwaiti citizens was asked to respond to il questions clustered into three groups: the first was about the causes and motives of the war, the second was about the role played by Kuwait in that war, and the third was about their views regarding future relations with Iraq.

Among other significant conclusions, it was found that the majority of respondents were convinced that the war was started to implement international legitimacy and the elimination of weapons of mass destruction.

They also believed that the position taken by their government regarding the war was balanced and convincing.

As for future relations with Iraq, the results showed that the majority of respondents were still very sensitive about instability in Iraq and believed that it will affect Kuwait's security.

Moreover, respondents were divided among themselves; some believe that Kuwait has to deal with any form of government the Iraqis choose, while others believe that what happens in Iraq is an internal affair and Kuwait should not interfere ■
