Abstract EN

According to the fact that the Image Studies are one of the important part of the Comparative Literature studies, and with the consider of the important role had been played by Edward Said in this field, this research will analyse the critical studies about the Image of the other in Arabic ayes, whether these studies has been written in Arabic language or in another languages.

This research attempts to discover the differences between these studies.

Starting from the aims of the study, research’s questions, methodology and the outcomes.

This research also will investigate the self- identity as found by the researchers.

Simultaneously, this research will attempt to discover the impact of Edward Said on the studies about the image of the other in Arabic discourse.

By answering two questions: did the researchers follow Said methodology and view in their works? And to what extent Said’s methodology can be used in Arabic discourses?
