Abstract EN

This study examined Al-diah and damages owed to the injured party or its inheritors upon death under Jordanian Civil Law and UAE Civil Transactions Law.

It is a study devoted to explaining the relationship between Aldiah and compensation by answering the following questions: Is it permissible to claim compensation for any damage besides diah as a compensatory nature? Is it permissible to combine Diah and compensation for psychological damage? In the conclusion the study recommended that the sum of money provided for as Al- Dian in law is sufficient to compensate injured party for physical and psychological damages.

To say otherwise, that is, to compensate injured party for psychological damage, together with Al-Diah, means granting the injured party compensation once again, which is unacceptable to law and rules of justice.
