A microporous metal-organic framework (MOF), cobalt-based zeolitic imidazolate framework-67 (ZIF-67), was synthesized by the combination of solvent-free hand-mill and microwave irradiation, without any organic solvent and within 30 minutes.
The hand-milling process can mix the reactants well by the virtue of high moisture/water absorption capacity of reactants.
In addition, the outstanding electromagnetic wave absorption capability of cobalt leads to efficient conversion to MOF structures before carbonization.
The obtained ZIF-67 possesses high surface area and micropore volume.
