The functional scope of signs is regarded as one of the essential principles to the concept of the semiotic studies as it designates visions and intellectual vantage points to the Italian trend, the critic Ambrto Echo, and the Russian one, Tarto School.

For these two trends the culture is a concomitant example of the human knowledge in the semiotic orbit.

As such the letters of Imam Ali and his aphorism contribute to scopes with various cultural functions, since Imam Ali ( Peace be upon him ) has a complete cultural system granting the interlocutor intellectual semiotics.
