The bad effect of zero sequence current in unbalanced load when connected to three-leg inverter, is the main challenge leading to add fourth leg and using three dimensional space vector pulse width modulation (3-D) SVPWM technique to handle this problem.

The paper presents an analysis and study of this technique, depending on the average large signal model.
