Abstract EN

This study aims to read the novel "The Bats", written by the Moroccan novelist Mohamed Azzedine Tazi, by examining the textual gaps in the narrative body, which are the most important mechanisms for producing meaning.

The paper is divided into two main parts: -the first one highlights the historical, geographical, and political spaces and other spaces which make part of the novel, and the effectiveness of imagination in the novel's.

The second part deals with characterisation in the novel and the way it is used.
