The Research paper at hand aims to highlight the investment of written comprehension fieldin the light of second-generation curricula.

In fact, written comprehension skill is one of the main skills that should not be ignored as it is an interactive process that takes place between the learner and the written text that includes a linguistic activity through which the learner discovers the symbols and linguistic sounds and transforms them from spoken to written ones.

On this basis, the field of written comprehension occupies a distinctive position in the curricula of the second generation, by focusing on the learner and considering him as the centre of the teaching-learning process.

The latter takes place when the learner is acquainted with the shape of the word and its letters and its proper pronunciation.

In this way a self-contained level of knowledge is formed.
