Preparation microsphere of chitosangelatine for controlled release of carbamazepine

Carbamazepine-(chitosan / gelatin) microspheres were prepared by emulsification-crosslinking technique.

The carbamazepine was incorporated into the microspheres by adding it to the chitosan / gelatin mixture before emulsification in an organic medium.

The liquid paraffin in the presence of an emulsifier with a low hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) value, tween 80 which is useful for stabilizing water in oil (W / O) emulsions.

The glutaraldehyde was used as a crosslinking agent .All the prepared microspheres were investigated by differential scanning calometry, Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) analysis and evaluated in vitro drug release characteristics in Phosphate buffer (pH 6.8).
