This work aims to study the optimal conditions to synthesize hydroxyapatite-multiwalled carbon nanotube (HAp-MWCNT) coatings on Ti6Al4V by electrodeposition technique.
The structural behaviors, morphology, and mechanical properties of the coatings were characterized by various advanced methods.
The analyzed results showed that the obtained coatings were composed of hydroxyapatite (HAp) and multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) phases.
The presence of MWCNTs in the HAp-MWCNT composite, which improved adhesion between the coatings and the substrate about 2.3 times, increased 20% of hardness and decreased about 40% the solubility of HAp-MWCNTs/Ti6Al4V in comparison with pure HAp coating on Ti6Al4V.
