إن هدف البحث هو استخدام أصباغ طبيعية مستخلصة من النباتات أمثال الكلوروفيل كملون و مثبت و ملدن لبعض البوليميرات أمثال البولي فنيل كلورايد.

أن النتائج تشير إلى إن الكلوروفيل يحمي البولي فنيل كلورايد ضد الحرارة و الأشعة البنفسجية و الظروف البيئية حيث أجريت عدد من الفحوصات على البوليميرات.

Abstract EN

The aim of this work proposal is using a natural pigment extracted from plants such as chlorophyll as colorants, stabilizers and plasticizers for certain polymers such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

This suggestion depends on their role in life as a light absorber, colorant and catalyst in the photosynthesis.

The results show that chlorophyll protects the PVC against heat, UV, and environmental effects in which polymers exposed to many tests.

It seems that chlorophyll acts as the protector material to the polymers.

The improvement percent in weight loss for blank samples and mixed samples with chlorophyll when exposed to heat, UV and environmental was 7%, 43% and 392% respectively.

The anti degradation improvement in PVC when exposed to 130oC was 71.4% extra time with chlorophyll than time with PVC alone.

For all above tests, these pigments show permanent color with the polymer.

The low percent of chlorophyll (less than 0.2%) results in increasing mechanical properties of the polymers.

At high chlorophyll percent (more than 0.2%) the mechanical properties decreases because chlorophyll acts as a plasticizer.

This work exits with a good replacement for commercially available synthetics colorants, stabilizers, and plasticizers avoiding their toxicity and their highly cost.
