The study aimed to reveal the relationship of emotional divorce with both psychological stress and self-efficacy in a sample of couples In the city of Jeddah, and the researcher used the relational descriptive approach, and the study sample consisted of 198 husbands and wives, and the study used the emotional divorce scale from the preparation of an Mgabalh (2017), and the scale Psychological stress among husbands prepared by the researcher, and the Self-Effectiveness Scale prepared by Hadi (2012).

The results of the study showed a positive relationship between psychological stress and emotional divorce, while a negative relationship appeared between self-efficacy and emotional divorce, and the results also showed differences between the averages of each of the couples.

Wives were affected by psychological stress in favor of the sample of wives, while no differences were found between husbands and wives in the level of self-efficacy.

A significant effect was also found for the high level of psychological stress and low level of self-efficacy in predicting the emergence of emotional divorce in spouses.

The results of the study were discussed in the light of the psychological research literature, and the study ended with several recommendations and suggestions for future research.
