Professional alienation is a concept that belongs to different sciences such as philosophy, religion, politics, psychoanalysis and of course social sciences, but each of these sciences has its own or autonomous view.

At first, sociologists have shown that work alienates man, that is to say, the work is external to the worker.

This article gives a brief overview of the evolution of the term "alienation", more fundamentally it determines the concept of "professional alienation", as well as the most important characteristics that distinguish it, also several sociological theories have been advanced to try to explain professional alienation.

It should be mentioned that professional alienation is a multidimensional phenomenon that is caused by many factors; so we detail the different types of professional alienation and its consequences.
