Abstract EN

The topic of divorce has been given a great importance by many researchers in various fields such as law, sociology, psychology, the fact that reflects the significance of the subject and its multiple sides that can be examined.

Indeed, divorce is a growing social problem, which requires from Sociological researchers and specialists more attention to investigate the factors that caused the spread of the phenomenon.

Although the causes differ according to opinions and trends, the result is the same, i.e., the main cause is the disintegration of the family and the disruption of the social system.

In fact, the family is the basic unit in the construction and cohesion of society, so any dysfunction affects the system.

This is what we will try to deal with through this research paper, which was divided into four main axises.

The first one presents the concept of divorce, the second one gives a statistics reading about the increasing number of cases and the rate of divorce in Algeria.

The third one is dedicated to show the divorce reasons, and the last axis deals with the effects of divorce in Algerian society.
