Abstract EN

The study seeks to achieve the following objectives: 1- Developing a conceptual framework that clarifies the most important features of artificial intelligence.

2- Explaining the most important opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence and their implications for educational and societal aspects.

3- Determining the extent of Egyptian universities' response to artificial intelligence by reviewing development efforts and the most important problems of Egyptian universities that prevent this.

4- Setting a proposed vision for re-engineering Egyptian universities in light of the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence.

Study Method The study used both: (A) The descriptive approach: to describe and analyze the emergence and concept of artificial intelligence and its most important opportunities and challenges, as well as the extent of the readiness of Egyptian universities for artificial intelligence.

(B) Methodology: Davenport & Short: It is one of the re-engineering methodologies and includes the following stages: 1- Designing a clear vision for the organization.

2- Determine the basic objectives of the organization.

3- Monitoring the processes practiced in the organization.

4- Building new processes.

The researcher used this approach to develop a proposed concept for re-engineering Egyptian universities in light of the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence.
