Abstract EN

The current study aimed at preparing a program based on discourse analysis approach for teaching Al-Badī’ (Embellishments) to Arabic Language majors enrolled in the third-year at the faculty of education, Minia University; besides measuring its effect on developing their rhetorical appreciation and linguistic creativity.

The study adopted the experimental research approach based on the quasi experimental one-group design, as the study group consisted of (32) students.

To identify the effect of the program, the researcher prepared a rhetorical appreciation test, as well as a linguistic creativity scale.

The pre-post application revealed that there is a statistically significant difference between the students' mean scores on the pre and post measurements of the rhetorical appreciation test as a whole and some sub-skills separately in favor of the post measurement, as the difference were statistically significant in the (19) skills, however, the difference were not statistically significant in (11) skills.

Moreover, findings showed a statistically significant difference between students' mean scores on the pre- and post measurements of the linguistic creativity scale as a whole and its sub abilities separately in favor of the post-measurement.

The study concluded with a number of recommendations and suggestions for further research.
