Abstract EN

We report the case of a 14-year-old boy with an isolated Salter-Harris type IV physeal fracture of the distal ulna.

Following failed closed reduction, transition to open reduction and pin fixation was required.

Six-month follow-up showed a favourable clinical evolution.

Evidence suggests that long-term follow-up is needed because of the increased risk of premature physeal closure and subsequent growth disturbances associated with this type of injury.
