تم في هذا البحث تقدير تركيز عدد من العناصر الثقيلة (النحاس، الكادميوم، الكوبلت، المنغنيز و النيكل) في رواسب أطيان منطقة شمال البصرة حيث أخذت نماذج من أربعة محطات في المنطقة، استخدم جهاز طيف الامتصاص الذري لقياس التراكيز.
أظهرت النتائج التي أجريت عام 2007 بأن أعلى تركيز للنحاس كان في المحطة (4) (14.42 ug / gm) و للكادميوم كان في المحطة (2) (19.596 ug / gm) و كان أعلى تركيز للكوبلت في المحطة (2) (24.309 ug / gm) و للمنغنيز كان في المحطة (1) (111.577 ug / gm) و للنيكل كان أعلى تركيز في المحطة (2) (207.319 ug / gm)، يعزى سبب التلوث في المنطقة إلى الاستخدام الجائر للمبيدات الزراعية و الأسمدة الكيمياوية و لوجود بعض المعامل الصناعية و محطات الكهرباء و كذلك وسائط النقل النهري.
Abstract EN
The determination of heavy metals (Cu, Cd, Co, Mn and Ni) in 4 locations of sediments of north zone Basrah were achieved by means of Atomic Absorption spectroscopy were determined in sediments samples.
The results showed that the higher concentrations of Cu were (14.42 μg / gm) at station (4), Cd (19.596 μg / gm) at Station (1), Co (24.309 μg / gm) at station (2), Mn (111.577 μg / gm) at station (1), and Ni (207.319μg / gm) at station (2) .
The sediment pollution with heavy metals thought to be due to different sources such as urban wastes, industrial of different sources such as urban wastes, industrial effluents, land washout and boats activates.
