تبحث هذه الورقة في نشأة الاتحاد ما بين الإمارات السبع.
كما تنظر في مختلف التحديات التي واجهتها الجهود التي سبقت قيام الاتحاد، كما تبحث عن كثب بالعوامل البناءة التي ساهمت بالمضي في هذه اللحمة الأخوية بين مختلف الإمارات, و تخلص إلى أنه كان لابد من ائتلاف و تلاحم الإمارات مع بعضها البعض بشكل حتمي لأن في الاتحاد قوة.
و يبرز هذا البحث كيفية تطور دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، التي كان لصاحب السمو المغفور له الشيخ زايد دور ريادي في بناء نهضتها.
Abstract EN
This paper examines the formation of the UAE by assessing the chief sources of strain and the factors working for stability.
It argues that the union was inevitable, because its seven independent sheikhdoms were not as viable by themselves.
This essay covers 1945 to 2004, with greater emphasis on the birth of the UAE into four historical "stages".
