Folk art contains many elements and symbols that are symbolic vocabulary expressing the artist's ideas, beliefs, desires and directions.

Fashion in the south of Upper Egypt is the fashion that expresses a specific time period that has its character and has artistic and social characteristics, which are traditional costumes that children inherit from parents.

It is a mirror of human existence in a place in an environment in a certain time of human life.

Also, its forms and ways of detailing it are related to the customs, traditions and culture of a society.

It tells about the fabric of human relations in society over the years The research problem revolves around the following questions: What are the popular symbols used in the fashion of South Upper Egypt? How can the symbols of folk art be used in the South Upper Egypt fashion? The research aims to identify symbols of folk art and motifs used in fashion, and to link between symbols of folk art and their use in fashion in the southern Upper Egypt region.
