Abstract EN

The Agriculture sector is one of the fastest growing sectors in Russia's economy.

Because in the crisis of 2015, it was the only sector that showed a convincing pace of growth and decreased by 2.9% relative to the year before (2014).

But behind the year's statistics, the spirit of hope in Russia's agricultural economy has left a series of acute problems.

The aim of this research is to give a clear picture as far as possible about the agriculture in the Russian Federation and the consequences of the American and European sanctions as well as the losses of the agricultural sector in the countries that announced their accession to the imposition of sanctions on Russia, including France in the first place: .

"The newspaper" Le Figaro "French, the losses incurred by the agricultural sector in France because of the sanctions imposed on Russia estimated at 739 million euro, prompting thousands of farmers to demonstrate their tractors in Paris.

According to a study published by Le Figaro, "How much would the ban on Russia cost the agriculture sector in France?", The pig farming sector loses about 100 million euro a year as a result of the non-export of meat to Russia, From the countries of the Far East and the Commonwealth of Independent States to the market to secure the needs of Russia, leading to a fall in prices." France annually loses about 500 million euro of exports and imports of fruits and vegetables, closing the Russian market to French farmers, according to Daniel Soares, global marketing officer at Interflue Fresh Fruits and Vegetables.

In terms of dairy products, Russia is the fifth country to import milk from France.

According to the National Economic Center for Milk, France exported milk to Russia last time in 2013 before the sanctions came into force, depriving France of an estimated one hundred and nine million euro due to the suspension of export.

According to documents published by the European Commission, the export earnings of agricultural EU countries to Russia fell from 4.9 billion euro annually to 4.5 billion euro, as a result of the deterioration of the Russian ruble, according to the Committee.

Professor Lambar, professor of international economic relations at the Sorbonne University, commented that the sanctions and ban on Russia "have a negative impact on the agricultural sector in France, but not as much as the data indicate, but rather to a limited extent".

The European Union of Dairy Producers, with more than 1,000 members, as well as the Federation of Farmers and Food Workers, launched a strike in Brussels on September 7, 2015, demanding financial support for workers in the agricultural sector and the crisis in dairy and livestock sectors in the EU.

According to the Farmers' Union, the amount of losses incurred by the agricultural sector in the EU countries due to the Russian embargo amounted to 5.5 billion euro.

In August 2014, Russia stopped importing food from countries that had been sanctioned.

Under that ban, meat, sausages, fish, vegetables, fruits and dairy products were banned.

Russia is therefore extending the ban onthe import of food products every six months in response to the extension of sanctions imposed by the United States and the European Union.
