Abstract EN

The importance of government support in directing economic and social activities, which is one of the tools owned by the state to intervene in economic, social and political life, especially in the field of agricultural activity and the provision of agricultural products and food for the population.

The study examined the policy of government support in the field of local agricultural production in both the vegetative and livestock sectors in Iraq for the period ( - ), in light of the abnormal conditions experienced by Iraq and the side effects that have been largely reflected on local agricultural production.

To provide the required support and to continue the agricultural lending policy, although some positive effects on agricultural products have been felt due to this lack of support or investment, as well as financial and administrative corruption, especially in the field of grain trade.

The research reached a number of conclusions, : The weakness and instability of agricultural credit and the financial allocations of the agricultural initiative, as well as the wrong policy in the agricultural sector in Iraq led to the failure and low quality of products and the weakness of competition for foreign products, and consequently the decline in agricultural production and the decline in its contribution to GDP, And the weakness of its policies and procedures in the other years in the study period led to the dumping of the local market Iraqi foreign products and the weakness of the ability of Iraqi) 286 (.
