Abstract EN

ABSTRACT Abstract This paper deals with the motives of Russia towards Africa in the Horn of Africa in particular.

The paper seeks to achieve this in the context of the competition between external forces to gain a foothold in this vital region of the world.

In the current era the competition between these major powers takes many dimensions, including competition in vital areas of the world including the Horn of Africa.

The conflict and rivalry between Russia on the one hand and Western powers, especially the United States, on the other is the most prominent feature of this era.

However, the Western-Russian competition in the Horn of Africa, for example, is less intense in terms of level and sort of confrontation compared to conflicts of these parties in other regions.

However, indications lead that it is a conflict that will develop into a more intense conflict in this region of the world.
