Abstract EN

This Hadith instructs the obedience to Shari‛ah (Islamic laws) and the due reliance on God, rather than segregating religion from life.

Whatever the Prophet said or did by means of revelation or personal Ijtihad (reasonable interpretation) is a religious law.

Otherwise, if it is based on human experience or common sense and not meant as worship, then it is not religiously abiding.

By saying, “You have better knowledge of the affairs of the world,” the Prophet (pbuh) means the affairs where there are no abiding religious laws originally or derivatively, and no contradiction with a direct valid law.
