Fiscal policy response measurement to the shocks of the rate of trade exchange in Algeria for the period (1990 2018)‎

Abstract EN

Within the scope of Algeria's quest to consolidate its commercial relations with other countries of the world and directing its efforts and its economic policy towards increasing trade exchange and economic growth, this study aims to measure the response of the financial policy to the shocks of the rate of trade exchange in Algeria from 1990 to 2018, by using the variables rate of trade exchange, public revenues and public expenditures, by estimating the VAR model, conducting Granger causality test, the impulse response functions and analyzing variance decomposition.

The study concluded that the occurrence of any random shock in the rate of trade exchange affects the fiscal policy, by affecting negatively and directly the public revenues starting from the second year, while the impact on public expenditures is positive, weak and fluctuating during the response period.
