Abstract EN

The false doors spread in ancient Ptolemaic tombs, to close the slots of Loculi.

This study is aimed to achieve two main goals; the first is to publish one of the slof loculi decorated with false door, which was found in the ancient city of Mendes (Tel Al-Roba) and is currently preserved in the Port Said National Museum.

The second goal is to identify the types of the flase doors in the Ptolemaic period, in the the Ptolemaic period, identifying its functions, composition, shapes, types, and comparing this type of false doors to those represented in the ancient Egyptian civilization, and their counterparts from the Etruscan civilization, as well as Anatolian ones and trying to trace their origins, and the closest to them in function and form, and knowing the aim of painting such doors.
