Abstract EN

This study was done in the animal production department-agriculture collage-basrah university which aimed to find out the effect of dexamethasone which used as feed additive on blood parameters, some body organs and their ability to induce animal growth during 40 days, 20 male rabbits were used in this study.and gave 50 microgram / kg Results of this study revealed that treated with Tr and Ts as feed additives, showed significant decreased in their RBCs, Hb and PCV.

These changes were obviously significant as the periods of treatment were in creased.

With regard to the WBCs, lymphocytes and neutrophils percentage a significant decrease was existed in their percentages due to the treatments.

Whereas other DLC percentage did not show any changes in comparison to control.

Increased the period of treatment caused a significant decrease in the MCV, MCH and MCHC, and have indication that these treatments, caused Hypocromic microcytic anemia.

Statistical analysis of the blood serum parameters revealed no significant impact of the treatment Ts on total protein whereas, Glutamic Oxaloacetic (GOT) and Glutamic Pyruvic (GPT) Transaminase enzymes, were significantly increased in their levels blood serum of treated animals as compared with control.

Results of this study also showed that using the Ts as feed additives, improved significantly the weight gain in treated rabbits during first ten days, in comparison with control,but with increasing the periods of treatments, the weight gain was decreased significantly.

The study also explained the effect of the Ts treatments on the weight percentage of some organs, it was apparent that giving the Ts didn't cause any significant effects in the weight percentage of the stomach.

But it showed a significant increased in the weight percentage of the heart, spleen, liver, kidneys testis and adrenal gland.

and caused highly significant decreased in the percentage weights of the full and empty secum in caparison with percentage weights of their weights in control group.

This study referred to the potency of Ts as feed additives should be given for first ten days.

Which leads in prolonged periods to appear the side effect of this feed additives.
