Genealogical science is a good science which Islamic Sharia urged to study it.

The researcher has dealt with all hadiths that referred to genealogy.

Of these hadeeths which recommend and induced people to study the genealogy were five; including the hadith of Abu Hurayrah and the hadith of Ibn Abbas, and the hadith of Abu Huraira, and the hadith of al-'Ala ibn al-Kharja ', and the hadith of Ibn' Umar.

The hadith was narrated by 'Umar ibn al-Khattab.

As for the ahaadeeth which were narrated against studying genealogy, there is no correct hadeeth.

There are some hadiths that warn employing genealogy negatively that may cause neuralism and boasting or to study this science extensively that could prevent people from studying other sciences.

The realm of genealogy is broad and has many areas, some of these areas are obligatory to learn and others are preferable.
