Abstract EN

This study aims at examining the relationship between principals' emotional intelligence and the interactive relations inside the school that will be dealt with at two levels : principal-teacher interaction and teachers-teachers interaction.

Therefore, the study developed a group of questions about the principals' level of emotional intelligence, the effect of age, gender, experience, academic degree, and academic specialty on the principals' level of emotional intelligence on the interactive relations in the school.

The study used two tools : MSCEIT for the principals, and a questionnaire to measure the interactive relations for the teachers.

The sample consisted of 20 principals and 269 teachers from 20 private schools in Beirut.

Findings revealed an average level of principals' emotional intelligence quotient; a positive correlation among the principals' emotional intelligence on one side and the principal-teacher and teacher-teacher interactive relations on another side.

Besides, the principals' emotional intelligence quotients were not affected by their age, gender, and experience.

However, the principals' emotional intelligence quotients were affected by their specialty.

Finally, the study found no relation between the principals' emotional intelligence and the principals' behaviors toward teachers of various teaching levels.
