Abstract AR
Abstract EN
-Levels of serum anti-bovine milk fat globule membrane.
(BMFGM) antibodies and antixanthine oxidase(XO) antibodies in the sera of normal healthy human subjects (300 females and 349 males) and patients who had suffered myocardial infarction (MI) (287 females and 335 males) from Kuwait University Hospital and Arabic Centre for Heart and Special Surgery Hospital, Jordan ,were determined using a sensitive enzymeJinked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).
All subjects were males and femalc-s aged between 25 and 40 years.
Levels of IgG class anti BMFGM were found to be higher in controls than in MI but with no significant differcnce in IgG anti-XO antibodies.
Levels of IgAanti-BMFGMandantiXOantibodies were significantly higher in Ml patients when compared with their corresponding controls ..
.
Controversial results were obscrved when diflerent workers measured IgM antibody titres in the same samples v,hich is likely to be due to infarction factors of IgM aggregation within the assay.
No significant difference was observed in IgM anti-xanthine oxidase antibody levels in Ml samples and controls.
.Anti- MFCM antibodies in female ( 300 controls and 387 MIs ) and in male human sera ( 355 controls and349 MIs ) using preparation of membrane antigen from goat ,camel and sheep milk showed no significat differences with IgG , IgA and IgM.
by comparing lhe present data with previously published results ,it was concluded that our results showed that there was no specific class of either anti-(BMFGM) antibodies or xanthine oxidase antibodies (lgC, IgA,or lgM)to be elevated in MI patients compared to normal healthy human subjects.
