Abstract EN

This research aimed to study the motivation to imitate negative aspects of life styles and other inappropriate behavior as related to ego identity among high school students in Saudi Arabia.

The research is based the Social Learning theory and Psychosocial development theory (identity crisis theory).The subject was collected from high school students in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia .

two hundred and three students were given two type of scales one was imitation motivation scale and ego identity scale for Morse (2001) standardized on Saudi subject.

The results showed that nine type of motivation stood behind imitating the negative aspects of life styles and inappropriate behaviors and conducts.

they ranged from the most important as followed: Seeking for security and love, drawing attention, and two aspects in the same level , Inferiority and attracting females ,then unfulfilled spiritual need and value ,curiosity , peer pressure , admiring new looks and fashions , eventually self-realization in a wrong .The results showed no significant differences among subject members due to age (10th and 12th graders The finding also revealed there is a positive correlation with a statistically significant (at 0.01) between ego identity (identity crisis) and the motivation to imitate negative aspects of life styles and other inappropriate behavior.
