Abstract EN

The Euro-Algerian Association Agreement, as a basic text for the establishment of a free trade area between Algeria and the European Union, contains important provisions relating to the organization and conduct of economic exchanges, As well as combating every practice can adversely affect the development of this region and hinder competition in it, it confirmed through its Article 41 and Appendix 5 containing the modalities of their application to competition in relations between the parties.

Its texts included the modalities of deterring each practice that would restrict competition and negatively affect it, from rules and mechanisms within the framework of cooperation between the parties.

Although the articles provide for cooperation between the parties authorities, the application and implementation of these provisions present some practical problems in the context of understanding and interpretation of the provisions adopted to prohibit practices.

As well as in terms of institutional mechanisms, procedures, measures used to deter practices and offenses inspected, which can adversely affect the effectiveness and activation of the Association Agreement
