Abstract EN

Zadie Smith investigates the struggle between the identity of the character and the historical background of their family.

Nevertheless, whereas inherited heritage, prehistory, and cultural origins give the impression that they play a central role in the character's growth, opportunity and private preference are influential aspects which encompass the prospective to claim superiority over any actually prearranged living course.

In this sense, fate and history are continually interacted throughout the plot, of the bildungsrom in the novel.

This paper revolves around the theme of identity structure in a multicultural society as appears in Z.

the paper ends with the conclusion that sums up the result of the discussion.
