Abstract EN

The poetic image is one of the most important elements used by poets in constructing their poems, embodying their feelings, and expressing their thoughts and perceptions of human, universe and life.

This study deals with the poetic image in the poems of the Saudi litterateur, «Saleh Saccd Al-Zahrani».

The aim of this approach is to expose some aspects of the poet’s creative imaging, the most prominent manifestations of the image, the means of its formation, and the side of linguistic structures bearing the image and its semantic dimensions.

The study came in two main sections.

First, the researcher dealt with the most prominent manifestations of the image created by the poet.

This included analyzing samples of single and composite images, personification, incarnation and mask image.

In the second section, the researcher discussed the linguistic structures bearing the image: the most prominent of them was the genitive structure.

Additionally, he analyzed the phenomenon of deletion in structures, with a reading in the semantic dimensions of the images in all of their manifestations,
