English Abstract

The status of the Iraqi women in Iraqi society has remind despite the extension of modernity and progress witnessed by Iraq in the twentieth century from the decline of tribal values in exchange for the emergence of new social values that consider the women asocial being equal of men in rights and duties.

These factors responsible of the under developed view of the patriarch are based on the misinterpretation of religion and on the existence of social norms that diminish status of women.

The nature of social structure of Arab and Iraqi families is based on the patriarchal structure in which the men occupies the position of authority.

The role of the female and isolates them from active participation in society.

But the great trans formation took place in the era of the first Iraqi republic the era in which the law that emerged and granted the Iraqi womens rights and them go towards a wider area.

The focus of our research will be on the era of the first Republic and it s impact on the status of the women in Iraq according to the research chapters.
