With the advancement of the means of transport in them, by virtue of the interconnected relationship between the transport sector and all other development sectors, especially if that was the application of sustainable transportation systems based on technological, smart, modern and environmentally friendly systems.

Therefore, the research focuses on the problem: that there is no clear vision of the development policy directed at public transport and its impact on achieving a sustainable urban structure.

The research aims: to analyze development-oriented indicators towards transportation that would achieve a sustainable urban structure.

The research assumes: that the features of the development policy directed to public transport lead to the achievement of a sustainable urban structure.

In this research, the indicators of development directed at public transport that affect the formation of the urban structure of the study area will be measured and the researcher concluded, according to the extracted indicators, points of attraction, places of activities and employment, areas of densities distribution in the city, and the diversity of uses and activities and their distribution in the city.

Modern growth areas are often empty of attractive urban uses.

Development must be directed through a network for development directed at public transport (TOD) proposed, to these areas to attract the population to it, and we notice in the study area the new growth areas proposed in the basic plan are still unexploited, because The lack of roads and the services connected to them, so we see that the residents want to bypass and build in the agricultural areas located in the city center and leave these new areas.

The development directed at public transport (TOD) for the city of Najaf, which depends on the creation of new growth centers with different activities and activities, requires the availability of an integrated and balanced urban transport system with capacity and flexibility, which makes the new growth centers an integral part of the urban structure of Najaf and this matter was Among the challenges that faced the researcher, therefore, the link and communication between the new centers, the city center and other sectoral centers, with the aim of providing a network of roads, public streets and means of transportation for individuals and goods in an economical, comfortable and efficient way, to create a sustainable urban environment.
