Abstract EN

A critical editing is done in this research to a nice paper written by ‘Ala’ El-Deen Al-Qunawey, the shafe’i faqeeh, who is a scholar of the Eighth Century AH.

Two written transcripts are adopted and combined to formulate the selected text.

In this paper, the author tackled the hadith of “the women who are clothed, yet naked” and made clear that nothing is mentioned in this hadith obligating cursing them.

Then he stated the danger of curse and the stern warning mentioned in the prophetic hadiths in this regard, clarifying that cursing is permitted in three cases: (kufr, bid’ah (innovation) and fisq (evildoing), for which there are three degrees: cursing with an all-encompassing description, cursing with a more specific description, and cursing a person in particular who commits some sins.

He stated the views regarding cursing a person in particular and their reservations.

Finally, he concluded by indicating the tongue’s danger, the importance of guarding and preserving it, and keeping it busy with what is beneficial in this world and in the Hereafter.
