Abstract EN

The experiment was conducted in the nursery of the Department of Horticulture and landscape gardening, College of Agriculture and Marshes, Dhi Qar University during the agricultural season (2018-2019 in order to evaluate the use of licorice extract in four concentrations (0, 1, 2, 3 g.L-1 ) and ascorbic acid in four concentrations ( 0, 1, 2, 3 ml.L-1 ) and their interactions on some vegetative and chemical traits and the concentration of medicinal substance for Hina plant (Lawsonia inermis L.).

The results of the statistical analysis showed that the concentration (3 g.L-1 ) of licorice extract has excelled by giving it the highest measurements in all the studied vegetative traits, where the Plant height, number of branches, and number of leaves amounted to (78.37 cm.plant-1 , 9.03 branch.plant-1 , 10.76 leaves.plant-1 ), and gave the highest measurements in the traits of dry weight, fresh weight, and leaf area which amounted to (4.74 g.plant-1 , 9.71 g.plant-1 , 6.48 cm2 .plant-1 ), respectively, The concentration of licorice extract (3 g.L-1 ) has excelled by giving it the highest measurements in traits of the leaves content of carbohydrate, the percentage of Lawson dye which amounted to (5.42 mg.kg-1 , 1.05%), respectively, and the concentration of ascorbic acid (3 mmol.L-1 ) has excelled on the rest of the treatments by giving it the highest measurements in the traits of the leaves content of carbohydrate, the percentage of Lawson dye which amounted to (5.19 mg.kg-1 , 1.02%), respectively.
