Abstract EN

This study aims to tackle the archives of AL- Sharia court of Jerusalem (the Religious court) as it is one of the sources which wrote the history of Jerusalem in particular and Palestine in general.

It contain a rich heritage difficult to be compensated or achieved from other sources in case of being missed. It is noteworthy that these records contain within their folds a considerable material, as it deal with most of everyday social, economical and religious issues to focus the insights on the importance of these archival sources which receive marginal interest from the specialized historians and writers. Consequently, we can present the gist of the study briefly through asking the questions that follow: When have the records been kept in the archives? What is its cultural and historical importance as it is unpreceded source on Jerusalem? What areas do these records cover? And How can we effectively benefit ourselves from these records?
