Abstract EN

The Melhoun poetic forms part of the collective memory that frames the group's awareness of its immediate and past existence, its store of social experiences and cultural practices, and its behavioral and ideological orientations.

It thus represents a comprehensive source of the concept of “popular culture” and a form of expressionism.

Although many of the Arab cultural elites in general and the Algerian people in particular have continued to view it as a distorted image of poetic expression and a form of degeneration of literary culture, , While others count a trend that hits the “national” choices at the heart of its underlying principle, which is a fragmentation of the linguistic unity that is the cornerstone of Arab nationalism, of which literature is an aesthetic expression.

In this paper we try to shed light on the research of the anthropological characteristics of the saline poem and on the exploitation of colonialist anthropologists on the text of the Mehloun as a document that shapes and frames the popular mind.
